PS5 Players Are Being Told They Don’t Have PS Plus Following Today’s Update
PS5 players have been a little confused recently as some players were reporting issues with their PlayStation Plus subscriptions. Those trying to play an online game or use the system’s cloud services were being told that they didn’t have an active subscription despite actually having one. The strange thing is that PlayStation’s servers were largely fine, confusing many users and leading to speculation that this is yet another example of PlayStation testing out its new “Spartacus” subscription service. Only Sony knows for sure.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Delayed Until Spring 2023
A report from earlier this year suggested that Rocksteady’s upcoming Suicide Squad game wouldn’t make its penciled in 2022 release date. It has now been confirmed by Rocksteady’s creative director Sefton Hill that the game has been delayed and will now launch in Spring 2023 instead. The reason why the game is being delayed is currently unknown, but Hill explained that the delay will be used to make the “best game we can.”
UK Xbox Store Lists A Plague Tale: Requiem Release Date As June 17
A Plague Tale: Requiem was announced during an Xbox showcase last year, but the release date was very vague, promising to release at some point in 2022. Thanks to an Xbox slip-up that occurred today, we now know that the game will likely release this summer on June 17. This date hasn’t been confirmed by publisher Focus Home, so it could just be a placeholder, but the game’s trophy list has also already been revealed as well. We’ll have to wait for official confirmation, but at least the date gives us a relative time that the devs are aiming for.
New Witcher Lead Says He Won’t Allow Crunch “On My Watch”
CD Projekt Red’s development struggles were openly discussed after the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077, and it was revealed that crunch is a major issue at the company. After the reveal that a new Witcher game is currently in development, many fans understandably had concerns that the devs behind the game may be subject to similar horrible work conditions. The game’s director Jason Slama was quick to ease these concerns, claiming that crunch will not happen while he’s the lead. We’ll have to take Slama at his word, but you never know in this industry.
Diego Maradona Has Been Removed From FIFA 22 Due To Third Party Dispute
Some FIFA news to finish things off today, with the story that Argentinian footballer Diego Maradona has been removed from FIFA 22. Players who log in today will be greeted with a message explaining that Maradona has been removed from the game due to a “third party legal dispute.” This is apparently due to a mistake from EA, who negotiated the terms to use the football star’s likeness in FIFA 22 with the wrong person, and that a judge ruled that EA needs to fix the problem or remove him.
