Happy Mother’s Day. How come there aren’t more mothers in games? I for one would like to see more moms in the medium. In any case, we found out today that Gotham Knights might support four person co-op gameplay, somebody is crocheting every single Pokemon, and Ron Gilbert is very disappointed in the response to the art style in the upcoming Return to Monkey Island. There’s more where these came from, so read on for the rest.

Gotham Knights Now Appears To Support Four Player Co-op

The highly anticipated Gotham Knights might be getting a much desired feature in the form of four player co-op gameplay. The news comes from a perspicacious player going by the name of SuspiciousTension19 on Reddit who noted that if you head on over to the game's PlayStation Network page, you'll see that it “supports up to four online players with PS Plus.” In other words, it sounds a lot like the game will be getting a four player co-op mode. We’ll know for sure when Gotham Knights comes out later this year.

Backlash Toward Return To Monkey Island's Art Style Makes Ron Gilbert Sad

Ron Gilbert announced a while back that he would be releasing a brand new Monkey Island game. Fans of the franchise were of course excited, but now that some of them have seen what the game is going to look like, they’ve been up in arms over the matter. "Return to Monkey Island may not be the art style you wanted or were expecting, but it's the art style I wanted," Gilbert remarked. "When I started this game, my biggest fear was that Disney wouldn't let me make the game I wanted to make, but they have been wonderful to work with. It's ironic that the people who don't want me to make the game I want to make are some of the hardcore Monkey Island fans. And that is what makes me sad about all the comments.”

Speedrunner Beats Super Mario Bros. In Under Five Minutes, One-Handed

The speedruns just get crazier and crazier every day. This time around, someone going by the name of JeremyMKV has managed to beat Super Mario Bros. in exactly 4 minutes and 57 seconds. I should also mention how they pulled off this feat while using only one hand. The speedrunner of course caught everything on video, so if you want to see how a real professional plays the game, you can check it all out on YouTube.

Someone Is Crocheting Every Single Pokemon

I like Pokemon about as much as anyone, but I’m not sure that I’d even consider crocheting them. Well, someone calling themselves NoDucksHere94 has been doing just that. You can check out the details on Reddit, but they’ve already done Squirtle, Pichu, Jigglypuff, Mew, and Staryu. “Thanks for all of the positive feedback you guys have given me so far,” the artist said. “Honestly, it means the world to me that people like what I do and it inspires me to keep going.” NoDucksHere94 is looking for donations and so if you like what you see, feel free to chip in.

British Museum Spends $10,000 To Stop GoldenEye 007 Screen Cheating

The museum located in Cambridge, UK called the Centre for Computer History has been celebrating the twenty fifth anniversary of GoldenEye 007 by eliminating screen cheating. This of course involves a very expensive setup. When it comes to how the institution managed this, Chief Executive Officer and Curator Jason Fitzpatrick explained that “it’s a bit of a kludge to do it. We’ve got these scalers and bits of equipment there, video distribution. There’s about eight grand worth of kit there just to make this work. But it’s a bit of fun and it stops anybody from screen cheating.” Some would say that screen cheating was part of the fun, but that’s an argument for another day.
