There are tons of mobile MMOs cropping up at the moment, but Black Desert Mobile stands among the most eagerly-awaited of the lot, and, thankfully, fans won't have to wait too long. Its early-mid December release will serve the perfect pastime for the holidays, as fans of the original PC experience gear up for a pocket-sized, but fully-rendered, mobile adaptation.

After a soft-release in select countries this past October, Pearl Abyss has announced the game will release worldwide on December 11. After some first-hand gameplay, it can be confirmed with confidence that this is one mobile MMO title that is set to deliver.

There are many features packed into Black Desert Mobile, but right out of the gates, its highly in-depth character customization is absolutely stunning. Far beyond anything expected of a mobile title and beautiful even for some PCs, the detail and levels of customization are seemingly endless. The battle sequences are fast-paced and awe-striking as well, with combos whipping up dazzling animations.

Fans will be happy to discover that the mobile adaptation indeed upholds the genuine open-world experience, including foraging, level grinding, and all. There's even a designated jump button outside of battle and, yes, it is possible to hop from ledges and leap onto boulders.

In addition to holding true to the original experience, the mobile adaptation also incorporates loads of extra content, including taming horses and befriending pets. There are even mobile-exclusive features, such as building and managing a camp and Black Spirit Mode, which allows for offline gameplay.

Truly Upholding the MMORPG Experience

To fit so much content into such a small package is a task in and of itself, but to do so and still make it enjoyable and true to its origins is quite a feat. Black Desert Mobile manages to uphold the immersive features of its PC counterpart while maintaining smooth gameplay and not bogging down the screen. Overloading the screen can be an issue even for PC titles, so avoiding this on mobile is quite impressive.

On top of these achievements, Black Desert Mobile boasts its own features to help the title stand on its own. With so much to explore, players will certainly be kept busy throughout the holiday season.
