We’re finally going to get the lowdown on Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode and hopefully how it all ties into Call of Duty: Warzone.
We've known for a while now that zombies are set to return to Call of Duty in Black Ops Cold War. The gameplay teaser from earlier this month mostly showcased Black Ops Cold War's story mode, but there was also a brief clip that confirmed a zombies mode is definitely coming. There wasn't much to see other than a dude fearfully poking his M1911 pistol around while searching for the undead, which eventually finds and eats him.
Last week we got a huge leak via Reddit that seemed to confirm some of the details we'd been hearing about Black Ops Cold War's zombies mode. Audio files made it clear that human survivors will have an escape objective, while zombies could attempt to regain their humanity by eating the hearts of surviving humans.
We still don't have official confirmation from Treyarch on just how Zombies is going to shake out, but it looks like we won't have to wait much longer. Treyarch tweeted out today that a surprise livestream tomorrow will focus on Black Ops Cold War Zombies, and presumably put all these rumors to rest.
PawnTakesPawn, the site that's been teasing Black Ops Cold War info for quite some time, also has a new trailer that showcases Zombies in action. It's only seven seconds long, but it's definitely got a bunch of zombies eating poor, defenseless soldiers.
We're still a little light on details for how the Warzone version of Zombies is going to turn out. We got confirmation yesterday that Warzone Season 6 will include something called the Haunting of Verdansk, which certainly sounds like it could be zombies-adjacent, but still, no new details were released.
One more day and we’ll finally get our answers, though.
