Singularity 6 – a new studio composed of game industry veterans from Blizzard, Epic, Riot Games, Zynga, and Sony – today revealed its first project, Palia. The game is described as a "community simulation MMO" where you'll be able to build your own town, collaborate with other players, and unravel the truth about your mysterious past.

There's still a lot we don't know about the unique MMO, however, as of today, you can register for the Pre-Alpha in the hopes of sneaking into an early build of the game. Singularity 6 launched a Reveal Trailer alongside the Palia announcement, showing off a bit of its colorful art style and gorgeous open world.

You can check out the Palia Reveal Trailer below:

“We started Singularity 6 to make games that bring people together,” said Aidan Karabaich, co-founder and game director, Singularity 6. “We’re so excited to invite players into Palia for the first time. Inspired by some of our favorite titles, our game lets you forge your own destiny, exist in a beautiful setting, and give you a sense of being at home. We expect the players to be a huge part of shaping the game, and we can’t wait to see what they do in Palia.”

Singularity 6 wants Palia to be a place where you can build your own community with your friends and is aiming to combine the "atmosphere of a community sim with a massively multiplayer online experience." It all sounds a bit like an Animal Crossing MMO – and it's definitely captured my interest.

Palia will also feature the usual assortment of character customization options, including various choices for hairstyles, outfits, and a "flexible fashion system" that will let you save your favorite styles for quick access.

As for the story of Palia 6, we know very little. Apparently, humans disappeared thousands of years ago and are considered a legendary and mysterious race. Palia will thrust you into the shoes of a human character that has just awakened in a small village – and you'll need to piece together the history of your past and create a new future.
