While the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many businesses to switch to virtual offices, Blizzard found a way to allow "Take Your Child To Work Day" proceedings to happen remotely.

The company says they originally planned to host a variety of on-site events and activities with the goal of entertaining the children of Blizzard employees on April 23, 2020. While they couldn't present their plans as hoped, the Diablo publisher scheduled a variety of events online.

Of note, tenured designer at Blizzard, Samwise Didier — known for his work on the Warcraft franchise — gave lessons on how to doodle some of the Warcraft races. With several videos that are five to seven minutes long, the Didier shows young artists how to design Orcs, Dwarves, and Pandarens. Giving tips on how he goes about his designs, he shows how to draw facial features, beards, and even how to sign a piece of art. Along with these videos, Blizzard offered a PDF with more drawings for curious sketch artists to try out.

Adding to Didier's online offerings, former Senior Vice President of Story and Franchise Development Chris Metzen read his children's book Snow Fight: A Warcraft Tale. While Metzen did pen the children's tale, his work in shaping the world of Azeroth stretches beyond that. He held the title of creative director on all of Blizzard's video games from 2002's Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos until his retirement from the company in 2016.

Blizzard also mentioned that almost every facet of the company had something to offer for their virtual "Take Your Child To Work Day" festivities. From the human resources department to designers, the publisher/developer offered lectures and lessons for a lot of career paths within the company.
