Blizzcon 2019 began on Halloween at the Anaheim Convention Center with an appropriately themed real life Darkmoon Faire. The pre-event was exclusive to Portal Pass holders and featured autograph signings, pin trading, shopping, and much more.
The Darkmoon Faire is a World of Warcraft event that runs for one week out of every month. Horde and Alliance players come together to play carnival games, collect exclusive loot, and take a ride on the carousel for an XP boost. While the real life version doesn't provide any kind of stat boost, there is still plenty of exclusive gear to hunt down between the pins, patches, and pop-up shop.
The Wonderworks Pop-Up Shop is a great spot to get some of Blizzcon's exclusive merch without having to wait in hour+ lines downstairs at the store. Here you'll find plushies, puzzles, Overwatch Legos, and much much more!
The Timewalkers' Trading Post offers a WoW mystery box with an exclusive gold Sylvanas POP! figure. The rest of the box has pins, patches, books, and vinyl figures. This is one of the most sought after collectibles at the convention, with the Sylvanas figure already on Ebay for over $100.
The Capsule Depot is a fun way to collect 12 new velcro badges for your Blizzcon backpack. Each capsule contains one patch with a rare chance to find a metal pin instead. After, you can head over to the Trading Post and swap out your patches to find the exact ones you want!
Traditional Irish & Folk Music band The Reelers performed a soothing set of Blizzard themed music to accompany the festivities.
The Caricature Barbershop is an awesome place to get yourself drawn like one of your favorite Blizzard characters. Attendees have their choice between Kerrigan, Arthas, Tracer, or Deckard Cain (for the distinguished gamer of course).
The Q&A Box is your opportunity to submit questions for the WoW Q&A tomorrow. In the past those selected were able to ask their questions in person during the panel, but it's possible they'll be reading pre-written questions this year.
The Darkmoon Faire is open to all attendees starting tomorrow and is open during normal convention hours both Friday and Saturday. It's a great place collect and trade your pins and relax for awhile in a cool atmosphere. Pro tip: there's a bar in the corner with no line!
