One creative fan has brought Patches the Spider from Bloodborne to life with a new sculpture, retaining his grimacing smile and the unnerving number of pointed black legs. Luckily, it won't come to life and laugh at you before kicking you in the backside off a cliff - thanks FromSoftware.

Patches is a staple of the Soulsborne series, first appearing in 2009 with Demon's Souls. Back then, he was a cleric-hating miscreant that, as you can probably guess, lured you to an item before kicking you. His hamstring strength is commendable. He then resurfaced in the first Dark Souls as a cleric-hating kicker before being reimagined in Dark Souls 2 in the form of Patches.

All had one thing in common - they were deviants with schemes to lure heroes toward treasure before backstabbing (or kicking) them so that they could strip their corpses of all their valuables. Jokes on you Patches, I'm doing a broken straight sword run. But, FromSoftware needed to give him a lick of Lovecraftian paint to make him fit into Bloodborne so he became a bloody spider. As if he wasn't eerie enough.

As you can see, it takes some artistic liberties, amping up Patches' creepy factor, and somewhat distorts his bald noggin to make it greyer and more menacing. Patches is usually a lovable goof that makes mistakes but this rendition is certainly more Lovecraftian nightmare fuel.

Still, it's an impressive model of one of the series' fan-favourites with a ludicrous amount of detail from his veiny skull to his hairy backside. Maybe we should give him a kick for a change, eh?
