Bloodborne PSX, a fan-made demake of the horror RPG, has finally made it into the hands of eager fans. Turning the smooth graphics of the PS4 title into a polygonal render more in line with a PS1 game, the demake has proven to be a big hit. In the hours after release, downloads for the game continued to rise and in less than 24 hours it easily surpassed 100K downloads.

Creator Lilith Walther took to Twitter to share her shock and happiness with the success of the game. Posting a quick thanks when the game quickly surpassed 50,000, she soon returned in awe when it climbed past 100,000 in less than a day: “less than 24 hours later and we’re past 100k now! Omg!!!”. As news of the game spreads, that number is sure to climb over the next few days.

Of course, Walther shouldn’t be too shocked at how well Bloodborne PSX is doing. Fans have been eager for a PC port of the game for a while now. Especially with the focus that Sony is putting on porting titles to PC. While this demake may not be exactly how players wanted to see Bloodborne on their PC, it is an authentic enough interpretation to please most. Plus, Walther has taken the time to ensure that this isn’t just Bloodborne with a retro filter thrown on. It feels like it was released for the PS1 with controller support, the ability to increase loading times, and slowed down framerates. Everything you would expect from playing Bloodborne on that old PS1 console.

Though Walther’s iteration doesn’t include the entire original game, there is enough horrifying Yharnam goodness to satisfy the pickiest of players. This includes the Cleric Beast boss fight and the famously difficult Father Gascoigne fight. There are also many of the game’s original weapons like the saw cleaver, available for users to hack and slash through enemies.

To further excite fans and get them to dive into Bloodborne PSX, Walther has tweeted out that there is a “true ending” to be unlocked in the playthrough. While the ending has been uncovered by some, there is no news on what it entails. You can try to unlock it yourself by downloading Bloodborne PSX here.
