Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night launched to critical acclaim, but there were many complaints made about the technical issues with the game. The Nintendo Switch port of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has primarily come under fire for its ample technical faults that are demonstrably worse than the other versions of the game.

The early patches for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night also introduced problems in the form of a nasty glitch that could potentially cause a game-breaking effect, as treasure chests could be opened on their own, making it impossible for the player to acquire their contents. Thus, if a treasure chest contains required contents and falls victim to this glitch, then the player has to restart.

The treasure chest bug is currently being worked on, as a fix is coming soon for the Xbox One version of the game. Additionally, a fix for the Nintendo Switch version of the game is being worked on, while the team has only managed to identify the bug in the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

The Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night team is working on improvements for the game, with the map system being overhauled. The Nintendo Switch version of the game is receiving numerous improvements in order to help bring it in line with the other ports of the game, which include fixing a bug that crashes the game during room transitions.

There has also been an update concerning the "Iga's Back Pack" DLC, which gives the player a unique Swordwhip weapon and lets them challenge Koji Igarashi himself in a boss battle. The PlayStation 4 version of the DLC is pending approval and an update concerning the release will be made next week, the Xbox One version of the DLC is entering testing next week and an ETA will likely be made the week after that, and the DLC for the Nintendo Switch version of the game has been approved and it will be released soon.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is an awesome game, but new players might want to hold off on buying it for another week or two in order to give the developers time to fix the lingering issues (especially in the Nintendo Switch port). For the full experience, players may also want to wait for the DLC to be released.
