Team Reptile has announced that it is delaying the release of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk - the spiritual successor to Sega's forgotten cult classic Jet Set Radio - as the team isn't "personally satisfied" with the state of the game at the moment.Announced via the official Team Reptile Twitter account, the developers have explained that to "create a fulfilling and unique game," they have to push it back to Summer 2023. A more specific release date was not announced, but Team Reptile promises to show off some of the game's visuals later this week to show fans how development is progressing."About the release: We are convinced that releasing the game this year will not take it to a level where we would be personally satisfied with," reads Team Reptile's statement. "To create a fulfilling and unique game we are extending the development time of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk to summer 2023."
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk was first announced way back in July 2020 and aims to recreate the same style and flair of the Jet Set Radio series that first started out on the Dreamcast. The game tasks you with combining tricks and parkour moves into one smooth motion, all the while using graffiti to paint your crew's name on any and all surfaces you can. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk will launch on PC via Steam and is a timed exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. We don't quite know when the game will be coming to either PlayStation or Xbox, especially with the news of the recent delay, but it is expected to release on other consoles "a little later" after the Switch version.
