Ed Boon seems to love hyping up the community of Mortal Kombat 11 trailers, and has done so again with a humorous tweet, stating that the remaining characters for the Kombat Pack DLC will be announced on August 21st. To date, we have seen Shang Tsung enter the fight as the first DLC character, and recently we saw gameplay footage for Nightwolf, who will be joining the rest of the Kombatants in mid-August. Check out the tweet below, but keep in mind it does contain some NSFW language.

For those of you waiting for the announcement of the MK11 DLC fighters...... we have a date for you! Kan’t wait for you to see who is going to join the roster!pic.twitter.com/qlbqDHT5Rn

As for the rest, Sindel has already been confirmed to follow Nightwolf at an unspecified release date. Thematically speaking, pairing the two fighters up fits into the previous game Mortal Kombat X, where the Nightwolf was able to stop the evil machinations of Sindel, but at the cost of both of their lives. No doubt we are in for some spicy intro dialogue when the two face off.

Following Sindel, we know to expect Todd McFarlane's Spawn, our first character from outside of the Mortal Kombat series. The trend off acquiring licensing to popular characters from other places has become normal in the game, as Mortal Kombat X saw the release the Xenomorph Alien, the Predator, and more. We can only speculate about what Spawn might bring in terms of a toolkit, since we have not been given any additional information.

The final two characters remain shrouded in mystery, but there had been much speculation pointing towards two well-known characters. Ash, our groovy shotgun-toting friend from Evil Dead, and the T-800 Terminator played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Ash, portrayed by Bruce Campbell, was thought to be in the game as the DLC character, but this was refuted by the man himself in a tweet. However, in mid-June more evidence was found, this time all but irrefutable. As Sean Murray wrote here at TheGamer, a YouTube channel going by Dynasty showed how using a search engine for “Mortal Kombat Ash Williams” showed for a brief time a Google ad that seems to confirm Ash as the first mysterious DLC character.

The exact same method was used for the Terminator, where one could type “Mortal Kombat Terminator” into a Google search, and the top link would send users to the official Mortal Kombat website saying “New Character Terminator” in the field.

For now, we can only wait until August 21st, when hopefully the next trailer will indeed give us all of the characters meant to arrive into Mortal Kombat 11. Hopefully, we see them all, but if Ed Boon as taught us anything, it is that he loves making his fans wait for the full reveal of a new character.
