Gearbox Software has announced the first DLC pack for Borderlands 3 and it seems to echo some Ocean's Eleven vibe. Titled Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, the goal here is for the vault hunters to plunder the riches of what remains of Handsome Jack's fortune. Talk about kicking a man while he's down (or dead).

Fronted by Mad Moxxi, purveyor of all things glamorous and sexy, the trailer is loaded with innuendo and provocative language. Moxxi loves her double entendres almost as much as she loves money. What better way to get money than to rob Handsome Jack?

Much like in past games, this new campaign will feature a separate storyline, tons of side missions, some new enemies, and a unique boss encounter. Unlike in the past, Handsome Jackpot won't require players to have finished the main story before embarking on its journey. Gearbox notes it has balanced this content for players around level 13, so it won't take long to stroll through Borderlands' idea of Vegas.

This new campaign will be the first of four heading to Borderlands 3. Gearbox hasn't revealed details about what will be next, but we can make some guesses based on the past. With Clap-Trap being one of the most popular characters in the series, there's a good bet we'll see him get another dedicated mission pack (much like in the original Borderlands).

Gearbox also hinted at cross-play eventually coming to its latest looter shooter, so another DLC pack might even poke fun at the console wars -complete with introducing the feature to the game-. With the rich tapestry of characters that Borderlands has, the possibilities really are endless.

Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot will be heading to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on December 19. It will retail for $15 on its own or is included in Borderlands 3's $50 season pass. Owners of the "Super Deluxe Edition" will already have the season pass, so they won't need to worry about grabbing this.

With this first pack releasing after The Game Awards, we aren't likely to find out more information for Borderlands 3's DLC in 2019. At least we'll have some new content to chew on in the meantime.
