Krieg is back in Borderlands 3’s fourth DLC pack coming next month.

Borderlands fans have been asking for more Krieg, and Gearbox is finally going to deliver. Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck, Borderlands 3’s fourth and final DLC as part of the season pass, arrives on September 10. And in case the name wasn’t a giveaway, it’s going to be all about Krieg the Psycho.

For those who haven’t played Borderlands 2, Krieg is a beloved character that was added to the Borderlands universe as part of a paid add-on. He’s a Pandoran Psycho with a mysterious past and a thing for Maya, and we’re not too sure if he’s been informed about her untimely passing. That might come up in Fantastic Fustercluck. In fact, we’d bet on it.

For whatever reason, Patricia Tannis is trying to figure out how Pandora's psychos get so psychotic and she thinks she's figured it out. "Vaulthalla, a mythical place that induces insanity in all who learn its true nature," is to blame. Now all she needs is a helpful psycho to explain just what the heck Vaulthalla is.

The only problem is that there are no helpful psychos on account of them always trying to eat each other. That leaves Krieg, a Crimson Raider ally that can only speak in strange terms such as "meat bicycle" or "meat chunks." Or really anything with the word "meat" in it.

Tannis’ solution is to beam the Vault Hunter into Krieg’s head Psychonauts style to get info on Vaulthalla straight from the source. Expect to learn more about Krieg’s dual nature in the form of a calm blue specter and a raging red brain ghost.

Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck arrives on September 10th, and we'll get a full game preview as part of IGN's Gamescom Studio Showcase on Saturday, August 29th at 1:25 PST. After that, who knows what’s in store for Borderlands 3? Maybe more DLC characters like Borderlands 2, even though Pitchford already said they weren’t going to do character DLC this time around.
