The Brain Age series is making a comeback, as Nintendo of Japan has announced Train Your Brain: Nintendo Switch Training for Adults for the Nintendo Switch.

The games in the Brain Age series have been known by many different names in the various territories in which they have been released. However, the basic theme has always remained the same. The purpose of the Brain Age games is to provide daily mental exercises in the form of questions and puzzles so that the player's brain can remain active. The last game in the series was Brain Age: Concentration Training for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012.

The time has come for the Brain Age series to return, as Nintendo of Japan's YouTube channel has uploaded a promotional video for an upcoming game called Train Your Brain: Nintendo Switch Training for Adults, which uses the familiar gameplay from the original titles alongside the new technology of the Nintendo Switch.

Train Your Brain: Nintendo Switch Training for Adults has several brainteaser games that are operated using the Joy-Cons, which means that the two players can compete against each other to solve them. There are also games that involve holding the Nintendo Switch in a vertical position and writing on it using a stylus that is provided with the game. Nintendo Switch Training for Adults won't be the first Nintendo Switch game to be bundled with a stylus, as Super Mario Maker 2 also had one in certain markets.

The Nintendo Switch has been well-received by the general public, especially in comparison to the Nintendo Wii U, so it should come as no surprise that Nintendo would want to promote the system to a general audience. The return of the Brain Age series after spending several years in hibernation suggests that Nintendo is comfortable bringing back their franchises that did well with the general public in the past, in the same way that the Wii Fit series is receiving a spiritual successor in the form of Ring Fit Adventure.

Train Your Brain: Nintendo Switch Training for Adults will be released for the Nintendo Switch in Japan on December 27, 2019. There is currently no information regarding an international release.
