Brawlhalla is coming to mobile and it’s bringing full crossplay with it.

Smash Bros. tends to take up the lion’s share of the brawler fighting game sub-genre, but there’s another game that follows the same formula that you should definitely check out. It’s called Brawlhalla from Blue Mammoth Games, and it’s a free-to-play brawler that will ignite your fighting spirit if you’re done with Nintendo.

Released in October of 2017, Brawlhalla is like Smash Bros. but has more cartoony graphics and instead of featuring beloved Nintendo character, it features the likes of Shovel Knight, Rayman, and WWE’s Macho Man Randy Savage due to some bizarre wrestling crossovers. There’s the usual assortment of random cyborgs, ninjas, Vikings, and werewolves, with 47 characters to choose from.

And unlike Smash Bros., Brawlhalla is free-to-play. There’s a rotating cast of 8 characters (called “Legends” in the parlance of the game) that you can play for free every week, and then you’ll have to pay for your favorites. There’s also microtransactions for various cosmetic items such as skins.

And it’s pretty popular. Steam Charts reports an average monthly player count of 15,000. Brawhalla even has a World Championship Tournament that just wrapped up last weekend in Atlanta. Which is also where Ubisoft announced that Brawlhalla is coming to mobile.

Available sometime in 2020, Brawlhalla will be listed on the App Store for iPad and iPhone, as well as Google Play for various Android devices. We don't know when Brawlhalla will be released on mobile, but we do know you can sign up for the open beta at Brawlhalla.com/mobile.

Also, when Brawhalla does arrive on mobile, it will have full crossplay with all other platforms. That means your Nintendo Switch friend can play against you while you take on PS4, Xbox One, and PC players--sometimes all at once.

Stay tuned at Brawhalla.com for more info. And if you can't wait, you can always download the game on your preferred platform of choice.
