A modder has created a Breath of the Wild randomiser that randomises enemy drops, items from chests, and has the chance to change where you teleport.

Randomiser mods have been popular for about as long as mods have existed. The basic concept is that they'll randomise elements of a game that are usually controlled, such as items dropping from chests, where enemies are spawned, and even what doors will lead where. Modders have added randomisers to games like Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, and even Pokemon, but Breath of the Wild is a much bigger beast.

As reported by Nintendo Life, Modder Waikuteru, who has previously created a mod that floods Hyrule with poison water, has tackled the challenge and created a mod that randomises much of Breath of the Wild, including items dropped from enemies, equipment found in chests, and even where you'll end up if you use the Sheikah Slate to teleport.

Waikuteru debuted the mod in a new YouTube video and it works as you'd expect by randomising pretty much every variable in the game that is usually controlled. Everything from ingredients to rewards given by NPCs is shifted around, meaning you might pick up a Lizalfos tail and be given a Guardian Arrow, or work hard to get the Master Shield only to be chucked a ChuChu Jelly.

Not only does the randomiser change things you'd expect to see messed with, it also has a "Randomiser Cycle" that will randomly trigger different elements, such as being able to steal items out of your inventory, spawn enemies out of nowhere, stop you from performing certain actions, and even change the time of day on the fly. We're starting to see why the mod apparently took "hundreds of hours" to put together.

The mod is expected to release for free on December 25 and Waikuteru has also opened a GoFundMe to support the creation of this mod and future mods from them.
