Only a few days after Call of Duty: Warzone’s new map went live, some cheaters have found a way to glitch below it and kill helpless opponents.

The new map, Verdansk ‘84, is essentially a rework of the older Verdansk map, set in the spring of 1984. Players will find the map similar to the earlier one, but some areas and buildings will be different. Quarry has been replaced by the Krast Salt Mines and a new area called Airplane has been added in the middle of the map. Even Downtown and Superstore look quite different than what players were originally used to.

Multiple videos have been posted on the CODWarzone Subreddit, showing cheaters clutching to the bottom of the map, running around till they find an opponent, and shooting the poor fellow before they can even realize what’s going on. Shots seem to be able to pass through the map floor and opponents can't see the cheaters as they’re below it, so there’s very little that players can do to defend against it.

Most of these reports have come from locations like the airport and stadium, but there have also been a few regarding the train station, TV station, and downtown areas. There has been no word from the developers about this issue as of yet, but this is quite a glaring issue and will hopefully be fixed soon. Verdansk ‘84 is pretty new, so bugs and glitches are to be expected.

Ironically, this issue has arisen only a few days after Raven Software creative director Amos Hodge spoke about the impact of Warzone cheaters on the developers. “What I will say is that we have reporting tools, we ban a ton of people and no one hates the cheaters more than we do. We make this content for the players and while you’re upset that it ruined your game, I’m upset that it’s ruining some of the best work that I’ve done in my life,” said Hodge.

“I made this content for players and I know that everyone around the team feels that way. We put our hearts into this content, we have 100 million players, it’s been out a year, this is a huge stage and some of the best work we’ve ever done, and to have cheaters come in and ruin the game bothers us more than anyone. I know the security team are on top of it and they’re continually going to make updates,” he continued.
