Yesterday, Destiny 2 assistant game director Joe Blackburn confirmed that Bungie still cares about PvP game modes in Destiny. The developer plans to add four new maps over the next year, with two maps from the Destiny Content Vault, one from the original Destiny, and one all-new map set to arrive around the same time as The Witch Queen expansion.

But on top of the new maps and work on new game modes, Blackburn also wanted to prove Bungie’s commitment to expanding Destiny. He pointed at Bungie’s career page where the studio is “looking for env artists, gameplay designers, lighting artists, and more to help improve our PvP output.”

In fact, Bungie has 98 job ads on its careers page right now, and a lot of them are for Destiny 2 work. Jobs include sound designers, music designers, graphics engineers, software engineers, and gameplayer designers at all levels.

Available gameplay designer positions mean that Bungie is planning on adding new gameplay elements that go beyond its bread and butter shooter action, of grabbing and dunking balls to trigger damage phases against bosses. There are also jobs for anti-cheat engineers, showing how Destiny remains committed to expanding its capabilities against the never-ending threat of cheaters.

Bungie is even hiring for cinematic and narrative leads to continue writing Destiny 2's seasonal story arcs. There's also a project lead position for Destiny 2's next expansion, although it doesn't say which one. The Witch Queen is due out in early 2022, so it seems more likely that this position will be to help produce Lightfall.

Destiny2

It's not just Destiny 2 that Bungie is hiring for, either. A whole host of "incubation" positions describe "making a new franchise at Bungie," something we know that Bungie has been working on for some time now. Incubation positions include multiplayer systems designers, artists, and directors.

A lot of these positions are available for remote workers, so even if you’re not in the Washington area but you’ve got the required experience, maybe consider tossing your CV Bungie’s way?
