We’re just 24 hours away from the Destiny 2 showcase and Bungie’s reveal of The Witch Queen, the upcoming expansion that will hit Destiny 2’s servers in early 2022. Presumably, we’ll find out exactly when The Witch Queen will arrive tomorrow, but in the meantime, Bungie is hyping up the announcement with an oh-so-tantalizing teaser.

Called “Truth,” this 16-seconds trailer is the first time Destiny 2 fans have ever seen Savathun. Although we can only see her from behind, Savathun’s design seems appropriately regal for someone known as The Witch Queen.

“Truth is a funny thing,” is all this menacing figure says before we’re given the date and time of the Destiny 2 showcase, which is tomorrow at 9 AM PST (12 PM EST).

Destiny 2 has been building up Savathun is the next big baddie ever since 2019’s Shadowkeep expansion. Her song, appropriately called Savathun’s Song, has been spreading like a virus amongst various NPCs, including Shax, Eris, Crow, and even the people of the city. The most recent season revealed Savathun’s Song had penetrated the Last City and nearly drove people to riot after the Future War Cult incited violence on the Eliksni refugees.

Bungie isn’t likely to tell us everything to do with The Witch Queen tomorrow as they have a tendency to keep some surprises for release day, but hopefully they’ll at least explain what’s been going on with that damned song for the past two years.

Tomorrow also brings Destiny 2's fifteenth season. Season of the Lost kicks off tomorrow immediately following the presentation, and we already know that the Awoken Queen Mara Sov is returning for the first time since the original Destiny's Taken King expansion. Season of the Lost will also bring a whole slew of sandbox changes, including the elimination of primary ammo and a huge nerf to the Anarchy Exotic Grenade Launcher.

We’ll be sure to bring you the latest from Bungie’s Destiny 2 showcase when it starts tomorrow at 9 AM PST.
