You read right: zombies were teased for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. We don't know yet exactly what the mode is going to be or how it will be played, but we do know that the undead are going to be featured in Cold War.

Data miners and leakers have been the main source of information relating to Cold War up until today when Treyarch and Activision held their worldwide reveal of the multiplayer mode for the game. A few weeks ago, we had a good lead that zombies would be coming to the game in some form or another. Today, that lead was confirmed in a quick 30-second teaser for the mode that's looking darker and scarier than ever before.

The reveal itself was two hours long, but Twitter user (and YouTuber) @PrestigeIsKey was able to isolate the clip so that you can pick apart the details yourself. Despite what we thought would happen earlier, there was no direct mention of zombies coming to Warzone. However, we were told that the events in Black Ops would effect Verdansk and vice versa.

It would be safe to assume, then, that zombies may be making their way into the world of Warzone and won't be an isolated game. During the reveal, there was a three to five-minute segment discussing how Warzone, Modern Warfare, and Black Ops would all intersect and interweave, with emphasis on the fact that they would all affect one another. We are going to get a single, cohesive story from these three games, so if zombies are in one, they will be in the others.

A lot of you have been wanting zombies to come back. It's a Black Ops classic that we couldn't fathom not being part of this new game. We have to admit, the developers almost had us thinking that we weren't going to get it when they didn't even bother to mention it. Of course, when it was mentioned, it was shrouded in mystery and darkness—just the way we like it. Treyarch also teased the fact that they will be holding another event in a few weeks as we get closer to the launch of Cold War. We can't wait to see what they have for us in that next reveal.
