If you were hoping to dive into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 as soon as season two launches on February 1, we've got some bad news. The start of the games' second season has been pushed back two weeks and will now launch on February 15 instead. The news was broken by the Call of Duty team on Twitter and first spotted by Eurogamer. The good news is Activision explains that the reason for the two-week delay is so changes can be made following feedback from the Call of Duty community. There has been a lot of feedback during season one, so a number of things the studio might have taken on board.RELATED: Call Of Duty Is Never Going To Top The Modern Warfare Nuke MomentThe statement, which you can check out in full below, does reveal some of the changes that will be rolled out on both games once season two does arrive. Topping the bill is the return of resurgence to Warzone 2, a brand new small map for the battle royale sequel, and also updates to the gulag. The new 2v2 format the last chance feature has been given in Warzone 2 continues to split its players.

That the updates confirmed for Modern Warfare 2 in season two come after Warzone's in the statement leans into some of the complaints its players have. The game's multiplayer mode will finally get ranked play as well as a number of new maps. Modern Warfare 2 will also get new modes and weapons, but the complaints that Warzone gets most of the dev team's attention will likely continue.

The first season has been pretty mixed for both Call of Duty games. While there have been glitches galore, one of which was making players' helicopters explode for no reason, stories of people roleplaying as Uber drivers was the sort of wholesome tale you don't expect from a game like Warzone. As for a bug that makes part of the map look like Mario Kart's Rainbow Road, that sounds like a problem with the player's GPU and not a bug everyone else can hunt out for themselves.
