It’s been a bit of a rough launch for Season 6 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The spiky texture bug's return was just the tip of the iceberg as players reported frequent crashes on all platforms. Then there's this weird gulag bug that teleported one Twitch streamer to Verdansk's new subway system while he was waiting for his redemption match, managing to get a kill before being teleported right back to the prison showers.

And now we have this. The AS VAL is a new stealth-oriented assault rifle that was added in Season 6. It uses subsonic 9x39mm rounds in a 20 cartridge magazine, making it an ideal ambush predator. But you can swap that out for a 10-round SPP magazine for some extra penetrating power. This turns the AS VAL semi-automatic, but it allows bullets to over-penetrate objects.

And when we say over-penetrate, we really mean it. Bullets fired from the AS VAL with the SPP magazine attachment will travel through concrete, boxes, and even entire buildings without the benefit of full metal jackets.

YouTuber TheXclusiveAce seemed to pick up on the bug first and posted a video that showcased the AS VAL's game-breaking penetration. He showed how the SPP rounds would go through solid concrete like it wasn't even there with virtually no damage fall-off as a result of traveling through said concrete. This resulted in single headshots from across the map and even through entire buildings.

Reddit has also picked up on the bug and is already showing the world what ludicrous things you can do with the AS VAL. Here's one player that simply aimed at the enemy spawn and fired off a few rounds, resulting in a lucky headshot from literally across the entire map and through at least 6 walls.

When combined with the snapshot grenade, the AS VAL is an in-game wallhack. Just watch this COD player use the snapshot grenade to pick up kill after kill from helpless opponents.

The SPP rounds were probably supposed to help a little bit with penetration, but this is clearly too much of a good thing. We suspect Infinity Ward will hotfix this issue out in the coming days, but in the meantime… well, you can’t really hide, so I guess just run?
