Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's release is now less than three months away, and the excitement is really starting to ramp up. Although a new CoD game is released every year, Modern Warfare is the entry of the franchise that really put it on the map. This will be the first time it has been revisited since Modern Warfare 3 in 2011.

Not only are we expecting a healthy hit of nostalgia from the 2019 take on Modern Warfare, but Activision has already told us a lot of what we have to look forward to. The game will be the next title to introduce cross-platform play, a long-awaited trend that Fortnite finally forced through in 2018. It will also have a mode that features 100 active players at a time.

If you're the kind of person who likes a little extra with your games, you might want pop into GameStop when you pick up the new Modern Warfare. A press release from the retailer has revealed that it will be carrying three different special edition versions of the game, and they will be GameStop exclusives. What's more, they are all available for pre-order right now.

If you purchase the CODE Edition of Modern Warfare for $59.99, "GameStop will donate to the Call of Duty Endowment, which helps find high-quality jobs for unemployed veterans." The Precision Edition will cost $99.99 and includes a steel book, controller skin, in-game content, and an animated calling card. The Dark Edition will set you back $199.99 and include all of the above, more advanced in-game content, and a pair of real-life night vision goggles.

Usually, we don't tend to bother with pre-orders or exclusives. However, GameStop and Modern Warfare's collaboration has got us rethinking our stance. The Dark Edition might cost you a pretty penny, but with some of that money going to charity, and some of it getting you a pair of night vision goggles, what's not to love?
