It appears that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developers Infinity Ward's having quite the time trying to get the game to what everyone could consider a state of perfection. But let's face it, that is never going to happen.

The title's creators recently released yet another patch addressing multiple issues and complaints voiced by the Call of Duty community. However many players were left disappointed as they expected a lot more, especially after Infinity Ward's Ashton Williams promised "lots of good stuff" in a prior tweet.

Said update introduced many fixes to the game, as well as two new Special Operations (Harbinger and Brimstone), a new Classic Spec Ops mission with star ratings, the realism player moshpit, and the immensely popular Gun Game mode.

Below are a few of the fixes which were implemented:

- Fix for a bug where a player could spawn without a character model when spawning in on a friendly vehicle

- Fixes for various exploits across all maps and modes

- Fix for an issue where copying an opposing players loadout was also copying their killstreaks

- Fix for the After-Action report not displaying newly acquired awards

- Fix for player rank icons not appearing on the scoreboard

All well and good, those, but the devs really upset players with a certain line in the patch notes. "Footsteps: Adjusted volume and sound type played for crouch walk and walking while Aiming Down Sights" has prompted some scrutiny.

Footstep sounds have been a cause of complaint since the game dropped, with many players expressing that the audio is too loud and gives their positions away. It's especially troubling when you consider that the newest installment of CoD is a bit slower than its predecessors.

According to CharlieIntel, the notes uploaded to Battle.net, where the PC version of the game can be obtained, contained a line said to have been left by mistake.

"This is a hot topic in the community, and this is not the change that they were hoping to see. Our core players want to see footstep volume dramatically reduced," it reads, suggesting it was expected that players would not like the change.

The line has since been deleted.

Apart from this disappointment, issues such as the game's skill-based matchmaking, weapon balance, spawn location and spawn camping remain unchanged.
