With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 about to drop, Infinity Ward is giving us a look at the new additions to the game.

Season 1 was immensely successful and coincided with the launch of the Call of Duty League. Season 2 will be released on February 11 for all platforms and will feature and host of changes including new maps, a returning character, and some fresh game modes.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was released in 2019 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It was a return to form for the franchise with a completely new engine and improved graphics. The gameplay was also more realistic and for the first time, it allowed cross-platform multiplayer. The game received mainly positive reviews and went on to make decent sales figures. As with all Call of Duty Games, there was some criticism, including complaints about the use of child soldiers, and the depiction of the Russians as the villains.

According to the official roadmap picture on Reddit, there will be several features added to the game in Season 2 with some available on day one, and others added during the season.

Some of the features to be released on day one will be the return of the Rust map for multiplayer, in addition to Atlas Superstore. Zhokov Boneyard is the only new ground war map, while Bazaar gets added to the gunfight mode. The new weapons include the Grau 5.56, a tier 15 assault rifle, and the Striker 45, a tier 31 SMG. The new multiplayer modes include Gunfight Tournaments and CDL Playlist. Also making his comeback on day one is fan-favorite operator, Ghost.

As the season progresses, a new multiplayer map called Kandor Hideout will be added, as well as two new operators called Talon and Mace. The new multiplayer modes will be Infected Ground War, Gunfight Variants, and NVG reinforce. There will also be an additional mystery weapon that's still classified for now.

It's great to see that Infinity Ward is keeping the game fresh and exciting with new content. The CDL Playlist is an especially welcome addition because it uses the same maps, settings, weapons, and modes used in the Call of Duty esports league.
