Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s season 6 update has arrived, and is quickly helping players depart. Amongst the numerous features that have appeared, new bugs have joined the ranks, and the newest bug appears to be two different versions of a crash that kicks players right from the server. Below, popular FPS streamer Westie made light of his 5th crash.
Initially, many thought this was restricted to PC players only, however, further reports have escalated concerns from the PS4 community as well. Oddly, Xbox players haven’t been reported, though, if the issue is already reported on PS4, it appears to only be a matter of time until it is confirmed to affect all platforms.
A few potential work arounds seem to be surfacing, though their success also appears to be highly variable. Apparently, there is a new Nvidia setting within the graphics settings titled “Reflex,” and some users have reported this eliminates the bug, although, others have noted this was already disabled and still did not prevent crashes.
Another rumor swirling is suggesting that only those with the free-to-play version of the game, Call of Duty: Warzone are affected by this bug. While unconfirmed, this seems highly unlikely, as Westie has streamed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare previously, it would be highly odd for him to suddenly be playing on a free version only.
Searching the internet provides a solution for one of the error codes received with this crash, as noted in the tweet above. Unfortunately, the solution suggests replacing RAM, which is not likely for most, and will likely result in a developer hotfix in the near future.
Despite these issues, players seem to be loving the current season launch, and sightings of the seasons armored truck missions, bats, subways, and new weapons are already popping up throughout the game. A hotfix at this point will easily make this a distant memory.
