Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's Season 3 Reloaded update has added a full-auto variant of the .50 GS for players to earn. This variant of the Desert Eagle fires incredibly fast, features slightly lower base damage, and can use underbarrel grips to help manage the gun's otherwise massive recoil.
While it's far from a meta option, the GS Magna can hold its own with the right build and playstyle. This guide will showcase how to make the GS Magna a solid secondary for landing accurate bursts, and we'll even showcase a build that goes all-in on duel-wielding the GS Magna pistols.
Accurate GS Magna Build
GS Magna Build | ||
---|---|---|
Muzzle | FTAC Fifty Comp | Tune for ADS speed |
Underbarrel | TV Wrecker Grip | Tune for hip walking speed and ADS speed |
Ammunition | .50 Pistol Armor Piercing | Tune for damage range and recoil steadiness |
Magazine | 10 Round Mag | N/A |
Rear Grip | GS .50 Wood Grain | Tune for ADS speed |
This build focuses on making the GS Magna as accurate as possible. We accomplish this by using the FTAC Fifty Comp muzzle to reduce the weapon's vertical recoil. This hurts our ADS speed, so we'll need to compensate for this by using the GS .50 Wood Grain rear grip. This weapon can't use lasers, so our only option is this rear grip. To round off the build, we use the TV Wrecker Grip to gain more ADS speed through tuning, .50 Pistol Armor Piercing to help the weapon penetrate cover, and the 10 Round Mag for additional shots.
Since we don't have access to lasers, we'll need to tune every attachment for ADS speed to make the GS Magna feel responsive. With this configuration, you'll have a decent secondary for quick three-taps at range and blazing-fast kills up close. We recommend tap-firing the weapon at range to ensure every shot lands on target. You should only be holding the trigger when fighting targets in close quarters.
Loadout Recommendations
Loadout | |
---|---|
Primary | Preference |
Lethal | Throwing Knife |
Tactical | Stim |
Field Upgrade | Dead Silence |
Base Perks | Double Time, Bomb Squad |
Bonus Perk | Fast Hands |
Ultimate Perk | Quick Fix |
The GS Magna works best with aggressive loadouts. We recommend using Double Time, Bomb Squad, Fast Hands, and Quick Fix for your perks. Fast Hands will help swap weapons faster for those mid-range fights, and Quick Fix lets you immediately regenerate your health after a kill. Bomb Squad and Double Time are solid perks but can be switched. Your primary weapon and equipment are entirely down to preference. We recommend using a solid mid-range weapon and equipment that helps in close-quarters fights. Throwing Knives and Stims are solid options.
Akimbo GS Magna Build
GS Magna Build | ||
---|---|---|
Muzzle | FTAC Fifty Comp | Tune for recoil stabilization and gun kick control |
Ammunition | .50 Pistol Armor Piercing | Tune for damage range and recoil steadiness |
Magazine | 13 Round Mag | N/A |
Rear Grip | GS Magna Akimbo | N/A |
If a full-auto Desert Eagle wasn't ridiculous enough, wielding a pair of full-auto Desert Eagles is nothing short of absurd. We only recommend using this loadout for camo challenges, as this is a subpar loadout for general use. With that said, it's definitely some of the most fun you can have in MW2's core multiplayer modes. In essence, this setup gives you an irresponsible amount of close-range firepower that becomes completely ineffective past six meters.
We don't have many options for adjusting this gun's hip-fire accuracy, so we'll be using the FTAC Fifty Comp muzzle to reign in the gun's monstrous vertical recoil. This does affect hip-fire kick. Besides using the GS Magna Akimbo attachment, we also run the 13 Round Mag for more shots and .50 Pistol Armor Piercing to help pierce cover. Underbarrels and optics do nothing if you're using the akimbo attachment, so we leave the final gunsmith attachment slot empty.

You'll want to support your akimbo GS Magna pistols with any mid-range weapon, Fast Hands, and Quick Fix. This weapon is effectively useless outside of melee range, so you'll want to use an assault rifle or similar weapon for other engagements. Reloading two Desert Eagles can take a moment, so we'll be using Fast Hands to speed up the process and make swapping weapons significantly faster. When you do land kills, Quick Fix will immediately heal you, stacking with Battle Rage's faster regeneration if it's active. And if you get caught in a bad spot, use your Throwing Knife for a quick kill.
