Warzone is the newest battle royale and it garnered a lot of attention. The Call Of Duty battle royale gained 30 million players in less than two weeks thanks to its wide availability and free-to-play approach. The game offers a slurry of equipment to help you in the Warzone but some are more useful than others.
Some of the equipment's usage may be confusing on your first few games. We're here to take a look at the equipment and determine their helpfulness. Equipment is anything that's not a gun or a killstreak so field upgrades take up the majority of the list.
10 Recon Drone
The Recon Drone is a remote-controlled drone that lets you spot enemies in your surrounding area. This may seem helpful at first glance but it actually has a lot of problems. First of all, it leaves you vulnerable while you're controlling it and secondly, marked targets don't stay marked for too long. If your targets are on the move then it is likely you will lose their position quickly. It does have one use though, which is destroying helicopters when the two collide. So there's that.
9 Munitions Box
The munitions box can be helpful in some sticky situations. It can be thrown down to provide ammo and grenades for you and your teammates. This can be useful when you're stuck in a stationary firefight with another squad and ammo is running low. Other than that, ammo is easy to find in the Warzone so the munitions box is not all too useful. Ammo is liberally scattered throughout the map and it can be shared among squad members so the need is rare.
8 Stopping Power Rounds
Stopping power rounds are great to have because they increase your damage output. Your enemies will go down much quicker but there are a lot of rules to this field upgrade. It has a slow cooldown rate, which is understandable, and it only works for a single magazine. They may grant you some power but it's only temporary. These rounds work best with sniper rifles (one-shot, one-kill) or light machine guns, which have huge magazines. So, these can be powerful but they take a lot of preparation to use correctly.
7 Trophy System
This contraption was a mystery for the longest time. It can be placed anywhere (best if hidden) and disarm up to three incoming lethal and tactical equipment within a certain area. This works with anything from smoke grenades to an RPG projectile.
It's great for securing a location or camping. The trophy system is an extremely useful tool but it only works around a 7-meter radius and it lasts about 45 seconds. This is a slight downfall but the trophy system is still a great defense for the majority of incoming equipment.
6 Dead Silence
Listening to footsteps is a key component of Warzone. It's the best way to prepare for an enemy encounter. Dead Silence, simply, quiets your footsteps making it easier to sneak up on enemies. This can be helpful when sharing a building with an enemy. It also has a fast recharge rate allowing for multiple uses and its duration will increase after every kill. Dead Silence does a small upgrade but it can have a big impact on your gameplay. Also, Dead Silence barely makes it on the list of equipment for it being a consumable.
5 Deployable Cover
This field upgrade allows you to be protected anywhere you go. Placing it down creates a large piece of cover that can easily defend you from head to toe. You will get attacked often when there is no cover in sight, which is when the deployable cover is most useful. The cover can also be helpful when setting up a temporary base or sniper nest. If your back is facing the entrance then place some cover down to protect you from any intruders. The cover does not last forever and can be destroyed rather quickly but it can save your life.
4 EMP Drone
One of the best advantages in Warzone is knowing the enemy location. The EMP Drone stops that from happening. It destroys all electronics in a certain area, even that of your teammates. The drone will disable maps, red dot sights and even interrupts some killstreaks like the Wheelson. This may not be the best for an offensive measure but it's perfect for some strategical gameplay and defense. It can easily disrupt the enemy's plans and put you in the advantage. Additionally, the drone can land on an enemy for an instant kill.
3 Armor Plates
Now, we are finally leaving field upgrade territory and looking at some plain old equipment. The use of armor plates is one of the first things the tutorial teaches you and for good reason. Always make sure you are fully protected by armor plates and have some extra.
If you take some damage then hide and use an armor plate. This will quickly replenish your health and give you a fighting chance. They are a surefire way to survive a gunfight or sneak attack and you'll be at a huge disadvantage without them. Plus, they can be used quickly making you vulnerable for only a short amount of time.
2 Gas Mask
You have a sense of security when a gas mask is in your inventory. This lets you last a little longer when the circle closes in. It can be the key to survival if you're stuck in a firefight as the gas approaches. It's also a key item when your in the final firefight and the circle is at its smallest. The mask breaks and doesn't last super long but it can still be the difference between life and death.
1 Self Revive Kit
A self-revive kit can easily give you the upper hand in a firefight. There are many times when you get downed and your squad is unable to revive you. Sometimes you will be your squad's last hope and the self-survival kit means victory. It's also a great way to get a sneaky kill on an enemy. An enemy will often down you but get distracted before they can finish you off. Self revive and give them the surprise of their life. The best part is that these kits are common loot. They may take away from some offensive equipment but they can literally save your life.
