Morte is coming to Warzone tomorrow as a new Operator. Played by rapper and actor Fabio Rovazzi (real name: Sergio Sulla), the new Operator is a former member of the Italian special forces who probably likes Western movies a little too much.
The cowboy-obsessed soldier was inspired by Rovazzi, a keen Call of Duty player himself. He's transported into the game through photogrammetry, which accurately renders his face for you to shoot at in-game. Using Rovazzi's likeness also works as free promotion for Warzone, since the five-times Platinum singer pulls in hundreds of millions of views on his YouTube channel. You gotta respect the hustle.
Morte comes equipped with a cowboy hat, a poncho, and the ability to pull off sweet pistol-spinning tricks. Can I get a yeehaw (in Italian)?

Rovazzi said, "and there are no words to describe the excitement of the opportunity to give my voice and my appearance to an Operator. I also love the character tribute to the Italian Western tradition. When I think that millions of players will be able to play with my character, I feel flattered and satisfied beyond imagination."
The character's background was created in collaboration with Rovazzi, and here's the lowdown: Morte was just an ordinary kid from Salerno, Italy, who loved Western films and wanted to be a cop. Because of his hot temper - a trait common in police officers - he spent some time in the juvenile justice system after sticking it to some bullies. I swear I'm not making any of this up, it's in the press release.
After being cut off from the life of a lawman, he went into the army as a volunteer in the Col. Moschin special forces where he served in Iraq and Libya. But even the forces couldn't contain him. Oh no. These days he's a Warcom operator and his old name - Sergio - is dead. All that exists is Morte, a nickname that symbolises the dead dream of a bounty hunter who wanted to be a narc.
Morte will become available in Warzone and Modern Warfare at 6:30PM BST on September 8.
