Catherine: Full Body is coming to Nintendo Switch next month and Atlus has offered a compelling (but incredibly pervy) reason as to why fans should pick it up.
Atlus is making its long-awaited jump to multi-platform releases, with the recent shadowdrop of Persona 4 Golden onto Steam hopefully leading to more Shin Megami Tensei & Persona games coming to other systems. Fans of Atlus games have been asking for more classics to come to Nintendo Switch, and the company brought Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore to the system earlier this year. The next Atlus game to come to the Switch will be Catherine: Full Body, which is an updated version of the mature puzzle game that was released for PlayStation 4 & PlayStation Vita in 2019.
There are several reasons to purchase the Switch version of Catherine: Full Body, as it will come bundled with all of the DLC from the PlayStation version of the game. Atlus pointed out another reason to buy the Switch version of Catherine: Full Body on its official Twitter account. According to their post, you won't have to explain the perverted scenes when playing in handheld mode.
Catherine: Full Body is an M-rated game; it doesn't feature explicit nudity, but it is full of sexual themes, as the story involves a man who cheats on his girlfriend. The game also features lots of blood and violence. The free DLC that comes with the Switch version of Catherine: Full Body includes the Horn-Rimmed Glasses, which shows all of the characters in their underwear. The content in Catherine: Full Body isn't explicit, but Atlus has a point about it not being appropriate in most households.
The original version of Catherine was promoted as a more mature outing than other Atlus games of the era, heavily featuring the scantily-clad Catherine in its promo material. It's not uncommon for video games to use fanservice as a means of marketing, but it's rare for developers to acknowledge that their games are best played where no one else can see you playing them.
Catherine: Full Body is coming to Nintendo Switch on July 7, 2020.
