Fortnite players have been eagerly awaiting a battle between two behemoths, and all signs point toward it finally taking place this weekend.

Fortnite is currently the uncrowned king of in-game events. Epic Games needs to keep its 10 million players entertained after all. In recent seasons, we have seen Marshmello perform a live concert on Fortnite Island, a blizzard cover the map in snow, and were all taken to what we're assuming was limbo during a cutscene.

For the majority of season nine, Fortnite has been building to what is likely the next big in-game even: a battle between the unofficially named Cattus and Doggus. Cattus is the name players have given to the monster that escaped from its icy prison beneath Polar Peak, while Doggus is what players have christened the giant robot we're assuming is being built to slay Cattus.

With Cattus once again spotted swimming off the island's shoreline, and the Doggus construction nearing completion, it's probably safe to assume that the battle is about to begin. Posters that have popped up in-game have all but confirmed that the battle is imminent and when it will take place. As you can see below, the poster reads "when danger strikes, take the high ground."

The Redditor who posted the picture suggested that Fortnite's sky platforms will take us somewhere during the event. However, we think Eurogamer's hypothesis is much more likely. They speculate that the sky platform's whole reason for existing is so we can watch Cattus take on Doggus from them at the end of this season. The site also highlighted that the timers around the island are all counting down to 2 pm EST this Saturday, July 20, 2019.

Now that you know when the event will take place, and where you need to be when it goes down, all that's left is to make sure you're there when it happens. We assume that should players be at ground level during the skirmish, they'll likely be eliminated amid the melee. Then again, Doggus was recently given wings, so perhaps even those of us on the sky platforms won't be entirely safe.
