One of Cyberpunk 2077's cool features is the ability to customize one's character as they see fit. Not only will players have access to a ton of customization features, but they will even have the option to customize the character's genitals while having the character be any gender (since there is no gender selection in the game). However, as it turns out, players will not be able to customize their character's voice to fit a certain gender.
In a Twitter conversation between Cyberpunk 2077 and a fan, the fan asked if players would have the option to edit their character's voice, something similar to a pitch slider that would reflect who they were playing as. In a reply to the question, Cyberpunk 2077 basically said that that will not be a "possibility." Given the robust amount of customization features, one would hope to have a fitting voice for their character and look, but it seems that no such feature will be available - only a choice between a potential female voice and a male voice.
Although the reason for not having voice customization can only be guessed and be left up to personal interpretation, one could possibly argue that the feature would cost extra money and time in order to be implemented. The more voice options there would be in Cyberpunk 2077, the more voice actors CDPR would have to hire. Additionally, since the game is going to be incredibly massive and be packed with a lot of content, having a robust amount of voice lines for every single situation and encounter would take a lot of time to work out.
Nonetheless, despite being seen as unfortunate news for some fans, there is still plenty to look forward to in Cyberpunk 2077. For example, once the game is booted up, players will have the ability to choose from three different life paths, each one of them offering a unique and one of a kind start to an adventure, while having a somewhat interesting background that gives players an idea of where their character came from.
