Parents became concerned when the Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis were growing in demand. They didn’t know how to handle these machines. They were used to playing a few games at their local arcades and coming home to watch television. TV shows were a safer bet back then because most parents knew what content to expect. Most cartoons were only promoting toys and not dangerous behavior. Most children’s cartoons were often tamer but would eventually evolve into questionable content.

Cartoons weren’t the only shows popular with children. There were some shows that the entire family count enjoy. Rating companies were betting on this so they could win more advertising dollars. Many kids can remember growing out of cartoons and preferring prime-time shows like Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or Boy Meets World. For kids who were sneaky enough to stay up past bedtime might have enjoyed more racy comedy like In Living Color or the live-action Mortal Kombat tv series.

No matter what your age is, several reboots coming in 2018, whether you want them or not. Some shows are best being a memory, but production companies want to modernize them. You may remember some of these shows as late-night reruns or had the opportunity to watch them live. Either way, you'll experience a wave of nostalgia seeing our list of upcoming reboots.
