Chivalry 2 is full of blood and gore, as well as opponents looking to cut off your extremities in any way they can, which is why restoring your health is so important. The different classes have different levels of health, but they are all able to heal in a variety of ways. Some of it is dependent upon your situation, but it is always a good idea to know what options you have available to you at any given time.

There is no doubt that you will incur damage at some point during a match, which is why knowing how to heal is so important. Your health is literally the difference between life and death in Chivalry 2 and you should be armed with the knowledge of how to restore it.

How To Restore Your Health

Losing health in Chivalry 2

There are several ways to heal in Chivalry 2, but it is important to know how they work, as only one method is automatically given to you. These methods are the only way to restore your health, but keep in mind that all of them take time as they will regenerate your health slowly over time. This is time you don't always have, especially when playing Free-F0r-All.

Here are the many ways you can heal in Chivalry 2:

  • Bandages
  • Eating Food
  • Subclass Special Items

Bandages

You are given one bandage at the start of each match that you can use to heal yourself if you happen to become injured, which is one tip for new players. However, be warned that the animation itself takes time to complete, and then you must wait even longer for your health bar to refill itself.

Bandages are fairly simple to use as controller players will press up on the D-Pad to activate it, while PC players can press the corresponding bound key. You can also restock on bandages by visiting an ammo crate if you happen to use it during a battle.

Eating Food

The method that you might not be aware of is that eating food will heal you, but it must be found. It is usually littered across the ground, and while you can kill your opponent with it, a better use for it would be to eat it.

This will restore your health and these are the controls that will allow you to consume it:

  • PC: Press 'C'
  • Xbox: Tap 'X' Twice
  • PlayStation: Tap 'Square' Twice

A few of the foods that you can eat are as follows:

  • Fruit
  • Vegetables
  • Fish

Subclass Special Items

While there are items you can obtain yourself, there are other ways that your teammates can help you restore your health when it is low. Each class has a special ability that they can use after fulfilling their class's requirements.

These are the special abilities that will heal you from each class:

  • Footman - Bandage Box
  • Vanguard and Knight - Trumpet
  • Archer and Knight - Banner

The Bandage Box will drop on the ground and teammates can run by and interact with it in order to refill their supply.

The Trumpet will heal all allies within a certain radius when it is used, and it will usually restore the health of five to ten comrades in an area.

The Banner can be placed on the ground and anyone from the respective team can go up to it and heal, but it can be quite a slow process. The downside to this is that your opponent can destroy it, so it is best not to place it in the middle of a massive fight.
