New sci-fi adventure Chorus from developer FishLabs will be arriving on December 3, publisher Deep Silver officially announced. The pre-orders are already live and will grant you the Elder Armor skin set as a bonus.

Chorus will tell the story of ace pilot Nara and her sentient starfighter Forsaken on the journey to destroy the dark cult Circle and their evil leader known as the Great Prophet. From a gameplay standpoint, the title offers a Galaga-like experience with glimpses of the protagonist’s mysterious past during intense cutscenes.

Initially, the team targeted an early 2021 release window for Chorus, but Chorus is now set to arrive on December 3. To celebrate the pre-orders of the game going live across a vast array of modern platforms, the team shared a new trailer, focusing on Nara and Forsaken’s deep bond.

You can already pre-order the game through the Microsoft Store, PS Store, Epic Games Store, or Steam. While doing so, you’ll get the Elder Armor gold and purple skin, reserved only for the most exalted members of the cult. The cosmetics can be applied to your ship as well as all three of the starting weapons — the Gatling Gun, Missile Launcher, and Laser Cannon.

While the game will arrive on previous-gen consoles as well as the PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, developer FishLabs emphasized that it’s “focusing” on the Series X — so it’s probably the best way to enjoy the upcoming space adventure. The team stated “it’s easier to develop for Xbox Series X than any other console,” and the process was very straightforward without any particular challenges. Chorus will support Smart Delivery on the Xbox family of consoles and will offer 4K resolution at 60 fps on Series X.

In our recent TheGamer preview, we wrote that Chorus is “triple-A Galaga, even if the studio itself is a relative indie, and it’s exactly what you might expect from that.” Chorus is launching on December 3.
