If there's one character in pop culture that's been underutilized in the world of dating sims, it's undeniably Santa Claus. After all, who can resist the allure of his bushy beard, twinkling eyes, and belly that shakes like a bowl of jelly? Let's face it, the man is a snack.
In a bit of a Christmas miracle, this oversight is being corrected as a visual novel is coming out that stars the hunky sleigh-rider. Too Many Santas will be dropping down the chimney very soon and will give you all the Santa-dating simulation you could possibly want.
How much Santa-dating will you get in this game? A whole lot as Too Many Santa features not one but six Santas for you to romance. The story has you play as the owner of an unsuccessful toy store who in a desperate attempt to keep their business afloat wishes upon a star. And for some reason, that wish seems to summon a flock of Santas that are all very attracted to you. Now you not only have to try to keep your struggling small business from going under, but you also have to juggle a bevy of potential relationships with a gang of Kris Kringles.
What kind of Santas can you wind up with? Well, there's Sexy Santa, Secret Santa, Sleepy Santa, Sad Santa, Saintly Santa, and perhaps the best one of all, Sassy Santa. So you're certainly spoiled for choice when it comes to selecting a Santa.
In addition to Santas galore, Too Many Santas also boasts 12 possible endings, a fully customizable protagonist, and tons of Christmas music. The game also promises to be a bit on the shorter side, so you should be able to experience all of those endings and romances before the holiday season is over.
The game is developed by an indie group known as Oh, a Rock! Studios who specialize in weird little projects like this one. They're previously made titles such as Cat President: A More Purrfect Union, The Pizza Delivery Boy Who Saved The World, Internet Court, and The Beard In The Mirror. So a visual novel where you date multiple Santas seems like exactly the kind of game that fits right in their wheelhouse.
If you can't resist the temptation to date some Santas, Too Many Santas will launch on December 14 on Steam and Itch.io to give you all the yuletide loving you could ever ask for. Now that's how you have a very happy holiday.
