Do you miss SimCity? Sure you do. But like every game franchise, EA eventually ran that franchise straight into the ground. But never fear, since a new game rose up to take its place.

It’s called Cities: Skylines, and it is exactly what the 2013 SimCity reboot wished it could have been. A full city simulation program with an easy to understand interface and options to customize almost anything you can think of.

Although Cities: Skylines released back in the heady days of 2015 (at least on PC, anyway), Paradox has been keeping the game fresh with expansion after expansion, adding things like luxury hotels and casinos to make your city into the new Las Vegas, to adding college campuses, theme parks, and zoos.

It’s no wonder that Cities: Skylines is Paradox’s best-selling game with over 6 million units sold across all its various platforms. It’s so successful that it was even ported to tabletop as a board game. And now you can get the PC version totally free.

Today and today only you can get Cities: Skylines for free on the Epic Games Store. Normally Epic likes to do week-long giveaways, but they’re instead handing out a free game every day in the lead up to Christmas.

Epic also has several games discounted for the holidays, including Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Godfall, and Star Wars Squadrons. And they’ll be giving away a new game tomorrow at 11 AM EST, so make sure you keep your mouse finger loose and limber so you can download another free game then.

Oh, and it looks like Epic is even giving away $10 coupons for use on any game worth over $14.99. This coupon has to be used before the end of Epic’s holiday sale, which is January 7, 2021. Also, you can’t buy a game and then return it to get those $10 added to your bank account--Epic’s thought of that scam already. But hey, 10 bucks is 10 bucks.
