Activision is giving Black Ops Cold War players an extra day of open beta access. Scheduled to end earlier today, the beta will now run until October 20 at 1:00pm ET.

Activision and Treyarch are tacking on an extra 24 hours as a community reward for solving the coded emails that went out to subscribers over the past few days. Once deciphered, the emails led to access codes, phone numbers, and websites that provided additional information needed to solve the puzzle. Thankfully, the community pulled together to figure it out, and we're getting another day of gunslinging beta chaos.

The beta is available right now to everyone who owns an Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC – just head over to your respective store and begin the download. You'll be able to take part in several returning modes – Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, etc. – along with a few new ones – including the tense VIP Escort mode.

There's also the new Fireteam mode, which plays out more like a round of Battlefield than traditional Call of Duty. In this mode, ten teams composed of four members each duke it out on a massive playing field filled with tanks, helicopters, and an assortment of other destructive vehicles. Fans of the dormant Battlefield franchise will find a lot to love in the inventive new mode – although we hope the series makes a triumphant return on the Series X and PS5.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release on November 13 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
