Crush your enemies, see them driven before you! Conan Exiles by developer Funcom is celebrating the 37th anniversary of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s take on the iconic role in the hit-film Conan the Barbarian, released in 1982.

To mark the event, players will have access to "The Riddle of Steel" a new expansion that should be dropping later on this week, and coincides with a second point worth celebrating, which is the one year anniversary since the official launch of the game. For those unfamiliar with the game, now is a great time to explore its content during this free-play weekend on Steam, and it is often on sale both there and the PS4 and Xbox One.

The update will be free, while certain items will be limited to those who decide to purchase the new expansion, which costs $6.99. The free content will be the addition of two new dungeons, new NPCs, and new summoning abilities. The DLC, which focuses more on Schwarzenegger's portrayal of the main character, adds unique statues of his likeness, as well as armor and warpaint from the films. Thusla Doom, the main antagonist from the first movie who set Conan on the warpath to make him the man he ended up becoming, will also be in the expansion.

Overall, The Riddle of Steel is less about brand new content and more about fan service, while also supporting the developers of the game. These particular cosmetics and decorations are ones that die-hard fans of the film and game have wanted since its release last year, and it seems perfectly fitting to come on both of the anniversaries mentioned above.

The future of the game continues to look bright, at least in terms of future development. This expansion now marks the fifth premium update since the game came out, which is an impressive schedule for content release over the course of only a year. The game is often on sale on Steam, and in was free this past April for the PS4 for players who have PlayStation Plus. If you are looking for an exciting survival-action adventure, now would be an excellent time to join the other barbarians looking to conquer their enemies.
