After a year of waiting, Steam users can finally see what Remedy's Control is all about. Control Ultimate Edition is now available on Valve's digital distribution platform and it's kicking things off with a 20% discount on its regular sale price. Available for $31.99, you can nab the base game and its two expansions for a relatively solid price before it returns to its MSRP of $39.99.

The sale will be running until September 3, 2020, so you don't have that long to jump on it. If your PC isn't up to snuff (or you just really want ray-tracing and haven't upgraded yet), it might be wise to wait for the Steam Winter Sale. Control is bound to shed another $5 or $10 during that.

As for whether or not you should consider Control, the game might be Remedy's best action game to date. The usually careful plotting of Remedy games is thrown out the window in favor for a title that puts more emphasis on action and spacing. It's a blast to play, if a bit underwhelming due to its lackluster narrative.

Still, the newest DLC pack ties everything together with Alan Wake and may even be hinting at an Alan Wake 2. We've yet to experience it (it released just today), but that's worth the $32 asking price if you're a fan.
