One of the many paranatural elements that players interact with in Control are the Objects of Power, mystical items that bestow incredible powers upon those who are able to bind them to their will. While a large number of them are used by Jesse in order to gain most of her combat and traversal skills, not all of them are bound to the new Director of the FBC.

Some of these Objects of Power don't seem to be bound to any one person, and are, instead, bound to the entire FBC and can be used by anyone with the right credentials and access to their respective containment rooms.

10 Hotline

The Hotline Room in Control

The Hotline, an old Bakelite telephone, is the Director's link to the Board and their orders, though the phone has also been shown to be used in some capacity by other members of the FBC, such as Casper Darling and Marshall. For the most part, Jesse uses the Hotline to communicate with the essence of Trench, her predecessor, in order to understand what happened at the FBC that caused the Hiss to invade it in the first place. While it seems that several people can communicate with Jesse through the Hotline, the Director is the only person who can answer the phone, as anyone else will die if they attempt to do so.

9 Service Weapon

Jesse taking the Service Weapon in Control

The first Object of Power that players obtain in Control, the Service Weapon is an incredibly old Object of Power that bestows the wielder the right to be named Director of the Oldest House and be the bridge between the Board and the FBC. According to Dr. Darling, the Service Weapon works on something of a Russian Roulette system to test the worthiness of its wielder, as seen in the scene where Jesse picks it up and points it at her own head before being taken to the Astral Plane. Several memos found in the game also speak of its previous forms, with speculations that it is the origin of mythical weapons such as Excalibur and Mjolnir.

8 Floppy Disk

Jesse stopping the Floppy Disc Object of Power in Control

The source of one of Jesse's most useful abilities, the Floppy Disk my look innocuous, but its powers can be incredibly deadly. While in the possession of Dr. Darling and his team, it was strong enough to launch pencils and mugs across the room, but in Jesse's hands, it is capable of ripping concrete from walls and floors and launching them with deadly precision.

The Floppy Disk itself once contained the nuclear missile launch codes for the Soviet Union, stolen by the CIA in 1970 before moving to the FBC after it began launching computer equipment at agents. Before being bound to Jesse, it was apparently bound to an unnamed parautilitarian for testing before being sealing the Containment Sector.

7 Benicoff TV

The Benicoff TV warping the Oldest House in Control

One of the more bizarre Objects of Power, this TV grants whoever wields it the ability to fly and hover for short periods of time, though it also seems to have some kind of reality-warping power when it is first interacted with, as it distorts the Oldest House around itself to run from Jesse. Langston also classifies the Benicoff TV as a Category V Object of Power, being able to destroy the Panopticon if it is left out of containment for too long, which seems to indicate that he knew about the reality-warping capabilities though not necessarily the levitation ability granted by binding it.

6 Ashtray and Cigarette

Jesse traversing the Ashtray Maze in Control

One of many Objects of Power that Jesse is never able to bind to herself, the Ashtray was bound and used by Trench to create the Ashtray Maze so that he could prevent anyone without Directorial approval from accessing the Dimensional Research sector. The Object of Power itself consists of both the ashtray and cigarette. The cigarette is eternally burning and affects the space of any location it is left in. When first discovered by the FBC it had caused the disappearance of several people in a retirement village, and the FBC never found the bodies. It is expected that they are still lost in the maze.

5 Home Safe

Jesse cleansing the Home Safe in Control

One of the optional Objects of Power that Jesse can bind, the Home Safe grants the Shield ability to anyone who binds it to them. Disturbingly, the Home Safe has been shown to leak blood, which isn't human, from the seals around the door, and x-rays show that something is inside the safe — though all images are distorted. The previous owner, who had a hobby of finding abandoned safes and trying to open them, gave up on cracking the safe conventionally and tried to open it with explosives. This left no damage on it whatsoever, leading to the FBC declare it a point of interest and taking the safe back to the Oldest House.

4 X-Ray Light Box

Jesse cleansing the X-ray Light Box in Control

Another optional Object of Power, the X-Ray Light Box allows the person who has bound it to take over the minds of anyone they wish, though the effects of this power also cause the affected person to die when they relinquish this power. The image in the light box belongs to a patient whose name has been redacted, with the image itself being unable to be removed from the box.

Before it ended up in the FBC, it was bound by a janitor at the hospital where it was located, putting many of its residents under their control and forcing the FBC to intervene. While they managed to take control of the light box, there were a large number of casualties as a result of the object's power.

3 Merry-Go-Round Horse

Jesse cleansing the Merry Go Round Horse in Control

Although the Merry-Go-Round Horse became separated from the merry-go-round itself, it still managed to possess the ability to move around at incredible speeds, resulting in the deaths of several people before the FBC was able to contain it. Before Jesse bound it and gained the Evade ability, it was located in an abandoned amusement park. The locals reported that the rides would chase people away if they tried to enter the area. By the time the FBC agents arrived on the scene, there were at least three casualties as a result of the Object, with one agent being injured in the process of capturing it as well.

2 Songmaster Jukebox

The Jukebox room in Control

Introduced in a functional capacity in the Foundation DLC, though appearing in the base game behind a sealed door, the Songmaster Jukebox allows Jesse to travel to another region of the Quarry, where she can undertake challenges while the song plays. Before being moved to the Oldest House, the jukebox would transport people to a tropical beach location, though no one could discover where on Earth the beach was, or if it was even on Earth. Once contained in the Oldest House, two agents tried to use it to get some private time alone. However, they were killed while in the Quarry and not discovered until some time later, as the jukebox doesn't return the person affected if they die on the other side.

1 Slide Projector

The Slide Projector room in Control

The Slide Projector may the be most powerful Object of Power in the entire FBC, as it is capable of opening doorways to alternate realities with the assistance of several slides. The majority of these slides were destroyed by Jesse and Dylan after an entity (called the Not-Mother by Jesse) took over several citizens of Ordinary and began attacking the rest. But one particular slide, named Slide-36, allowed access to Hedron and the resonance that grants Polaris and Jesse their powers. The Slide Projector is also the entire reason for the Hiss invasion, as Trench used one of the burned slides to open a doorway to the Hiss dimension shortly before committing suicide.
