Usually, an achievement name is some kind of clever pun or a funny joke to reward the player for accomplishing a certain feat or task. The developer behind Cookie Clicker has instead been getting experimental with the game's achievements on Steam, creating an achievement name that is literal sentences long.

First discovered by Twitter user "dog given", Cookie Clicker's achievement for having players bake 10 sextillion cookies per second doesn't actually fit on the screen. Instead, the name just wanders off-screen, rambling about the personal life of Adolphus W. Green, creator of the National Biscuit Company. The entire name of the achievement is as follows:

"There's really no hard limit to how long these achievement names can be and to be quite honest I'm rather curious to see how far we can go. Adolphus W. Green (1844–1917) started as the Principal of the Groton School in 1864. By 1865, he became second assistant librarian at the New York Mercantile Library; from 1867 to 1869, he was promoted to full librarian. From 1869 to 1873, he worked for Evarts, Southmayd & Choate, a law firm co-founded by William M. Evarts, Charles Ferdinand Southmayd and Joseph Hodges Choate. He was admitted to the New York State Bar Association in 1873. Anyway, how's your day been?"

The fact that Steam achievement names can even get this long is amazing in itself, but the Cookie Clicker developer seeing it as an opportunity to teach people about the creator of a high-profile biscuit manufacturer is a joke straight off the top shelf.

It's this high level of absurd humor that has made Cookie Clicker the cult classic that it is today. Starting off as a silly browser game in 2013, developer Julien 'Orteil' Thiennot has gradually updated the game since then and has now released the game on Steam to an Overwhelmingly Positive reception.

In fact, Cookie Clicker has become so well received since its launch a few days ago that it's actually beating games like Phasmophobia, Rainbow Six Siege, and Warframe in concurrent players on Steam. Not bad for a browser game about clicking on a cookie.
