Perform Skilled Tasks

You earn money (and skill points) simply by going about your day and tending to the world around you!

Skilled tasks are split into a few categories:

  • Farming (planting seeds, watering crops, and harvesting them)
  • Foraging (picking flowers, collecting seashells, and any other items growing around you)
  • Ranching (tending to cattle and horses once you purchase a stable for them from the Carpenter)
  • Mining (at the Cavern, on the beach, or underwater)
  • Diving (unlocked after receiving a diving suit from the diving pier)
  • Fishing (unlocked after receiving a fishing rod from the Beach Shack)
  • Bug-Catching (unlocked after receiving a catching net from the Beach Shack, can either be sold or donated to the Museum)
  • Other (carrying out task-based missions, such as activating the underwater orbs or gifting the villagers)

Even without selling anything, performing any of the skilled tasks above will earn you plenty of gold. Farming is an especially high-earning task, so be sure to purchase seeds from Sam's store or collect wild seeds whilst cutting tall grass around the Woodlands.

Fishing is a great way to make money quickly, as you'll be able to catch numerous fish a day and sell them at higher prices than foraged goods.

Ship Goods Or Sell Them To Sam

The Farmer uses the Shipping Bin just to the right of their house to sell off unwanted goods in Coral island

Certain items and goods are worth more than others, but you can sell everything you don't need by using the shipping bin outside your house. You can also take any goods grown on your farm to Sam's store directly.

From rare artifacts found locked away in coffers to violets, daffodils, and tulips galore, there is plenty of money to be made simply by selling random items picked up on your adventures. Don't sell your tools - it costs quite a bit to have new ones forged by the blacksmith!

You aren't told directly how much each item is worth; you'll have to sell them to find out, but once you do, you'll be able to see its value once you place it into the shipping bin by checking the green bar when you hover over each item.

You can also craft items from your crafting menu and sell those for an even greater profit, such as candied tree nuts. These tasty morsels are worth nearly three times that of a regular pine cone.

Remember, you'll get more money for items you have grown, foraged, or caught yourself.

That means there is very little resale value in stuff like clothing, so you may want to store these by crafting a Makeshift Chest instead.

Complete Errands

In Coral Island, you can run errands for people to earn merit and money. By far, the best errands for coins are found in the Band of Smiles hideout. You'll usually have to slay a few monsters, but the reward is a hefty sum of coins.

Some errands will pay more than others. Check back often to see what's available and help out your neighbors for some extra cash.

Completing errands is a quick and relatively easy way to get funds the same-day, so long as you can complete the task given to you. You can accept errands from the board next to Sam's and the board in the Band of Smiles hideout for two errands at a time.

Invest In Yourself

The best way to make money overall is to invest in yourself. Selling the materials you get from animals is well and good, but what about turning them into different artisan goods? Improving the materials you already have will greatly impact their sell prices.

You can also improve the quality of your soil at the lab, increasing the overall quality of crops planted with or without fertilizer. There are several other upgrades available at the lab as well, and they're worth investing in.

Coral Island has a slow start, so take your time and invest in your farm before trying to pursue big ticket items.
