I’ve found the mouse I’m going to use until it breaks, then I’m going to buy another one. As a hardware reviewer, I often find myself rotating through different devices, always using the last mouse I reviewed until the next one comes along. But no more - The Corsair’s Sabre RGB Pro Wireless Champion Series has everything I could ever want in a wireless gaming mouse. Its ultra-lightweight frame, sub-1ms response time, and 90-hour battery put the Sabre in a league of its own. It's comfortable for multiple grip types, and it has a smoother glide than any mouse I’ve tested this year. I can’t imagine what another wireless mouse could do for me that the Sabre doesn’t. If lightweight speed is what you’re after, the Sabre RGB Pro is the mouse to beat.

Corsair says that the Sabre RGB Pro Wireless Champion Series is designed for and tested by esports pros. It comes equipped with Slipstream Wireless technology for super-fast response times, Quickstrike buttons for ultra-responsive clicks, a fully customizable Marksman DPI sensor, and Omron switches rated for 50 million clicks. That’s a lot of techno-jargon and proprietary branding to convey that this is a professional, dependable mouse. I can’t test the polling rates or response time of the clicks, nor would I want to, but the point is that when I use the Sabre I have the peace of mind to know that it’s as fast and reliable as it could possibly be. There’s nothing that can get in the way and negatively affect my performance. I don’t know how Slipstream wireless works or what Quickstrike buttons do, but I know that they work incredibly well, because the user experience of the Sabre is flawless.

The mouse comes with a tiny USB dongle to plug into your PC, after that, the connection is instant and unwavering. Other wireless mouses use a dongle that needs to be plugged into a long cable and kept within a few inches of your wireless mouse, but I’ve got mine plugged into a cheap USB hub that hangs off my PC near the floor, three feet away from my mouse, and I haven’t experienced one second of interruption in two weeks.

The Sabre has a long, slim form factor that fits naturally in my hand. It isn’t padded, but the soft plastic feels nice to hold, even for long sessions. It balanced exceptionally well from back to front, though you may need to adjust your regular grip to ensure that the back doesn’t tip when you lift it up, since it is such a long mouse. Fingertip and claw grip will give you the best hold on the Sabre, if you use a palm grip, it might take a bit more getting used to.

What I appreciate most about the Sabre is the small details. It has a DPI toggle button right on top with five preset stages so you can easily program your settings to your most played games using the iCue software and swap them on the fly. It has a little space underneath to holding the wireless dongle when you’re on the go, and the side buttons and extra long so no matter what grip you use, they’re easy to reach. It’s an intelligently designed mouse that’s the result of many years of refinement, and it really shows. The most important feature for me, as someone that hates plugging in all of my devices daily, is the 90-hour battery life. I haven’t charged the Sabre once since I took it out of the box two weeks ago.

You’ll get a lot out of the Sabre if you’re a competitive player, but a quality mouse with a long battery life is a benefit to anyone, no matter what kind of player you are. Compared to my other favorite wireless mouse, the HyperX Pulsefire Dart, the Sabre isn’t quite as ergonomic, it doesn’t have any padding, and it can’t be charged wirelessly, which is something I would expect from a mouse in this price range. It makes up for by being 33 grams lighter and having a significantly more reliable wireless connection, not to mention nearly double the battery life. The Sabre also has Bluetooth so you can connect it even if you don’t have the adapter. I love them both for different reasons, but if you love an ultra-lightweight mouse, the Sabre RGB Pro Wireless Champion Series is the one you’re looking for.
