Cr1tikal seems to be in a philanthropic mood. The popular streamer published a video today (thanks PCGamesN), talking about what it feels like to be the first person to complete a challenge, whatever it may be. For instance, he gave the example of Roger Bannister, the first man to run a mile in under four minutes. Who knows why the thought came to the streamer? But he decided to encourage more firsts by putting out a challenge and a worthy reward.

The challenge: beat Halo 2 Anniversary on LASO (Legendary difficulty and All Skulls On) without dying and provide legit proof of doing so. The reward: $5,000.

In case it wasn't clear, Legendary difficulty is pretty… difficult. Add to that completing it with all Skulls on. For the uninitiated, Skulls are collectibles you can find in every Halo game that act as modifiers, ramping up the challenge. And finally, doing all of this without even a single death. That's one hell of a challenge by Cr1tikal, one that's never been achieved – on the record at least.

“It’s considered the hardest solo accomplishment in all of FPS history,” he said. “I’ve actually tried it myself, I could not get past the first two rooms in the first mission of Halo 2 with LASO!” You'll have to fill out this form if you want to take a shot at the challenge.

While you're grinding to beat this challenge, Halo: Master Chief Collection players might soon be able to pay their way through their grind, as 343 Industries is considering adding microtransactions to the collection.

“We are internally exploring a potential new feature for the future in the form of purchasable Spartan Points,” 343 revealed in a recent blog post. Spartan Points will be introduced, “for players who are new to the MCC, or who may not have dedicated much time specifically to unlocking items during the seasonal updates or are simply completionists looking to catch the last outstanding items they need.”

The studio said that the feature is an "optional, additive alternative for players who might find the vast scope of content to be an intimidating amount of playtime and want to get ahead on (or skip) the grind."
