Crash 4's listing on the PS Store states that the game will have an offline multiplayer mode of some sort for up for four players.

Last week, information leaked revealing that a brand new Crash Bandicoot game was in the works. This is no regular Crash game either. As has now been confirmed by its developer Toys For Bob, the new Crash game will be called Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. A fitting name since it will rearrange the Crash Bandicoot timeline in a major way.

As is joked about in the announce trailer for the game, anything to have happened in the Crash universe since late 1998 has been erased from its history. For the purposes of this game, at least. One of the Quantum Masks asks Crash and Coco how many times the pair has been tasked with taking down Dr. Neo Cortex. Coco replies three, to which the mask states that it feels like more.

Other than elements of the game's storyline and when on the Crash timeline it will take place, not much has been revealed about the game. However, a tidbit discovered in the PlayStation Store's listing of It's About Time has revealed something gamers didn't know before. That Crash 4 will include an offline multiplayer option for two to four players.

That has got Crash fans speculating on how that will work exactly. Since Crash and Coco both feature prominently, and also a playable Cortex on certain levels, the explanation that makes the most sense is a co-op mode. There is no evidence of that in the trailer though, and still doesn't account for the other two people should Crash players want to play with three other people at the same time.

Other potential options include players taking it in turns, competing against each other to speedrun levels, or maybe there will be mini-games away from Crash 4's main story. Outside of its racing titles, multiplayer isn't a feature Crash developers have explored in much detail. Also, Crash fans who prefer to play their Bandicoot games alone are fearful that some of the trophies will require playing the game with other people to attain them.
