The Crash Bandicoot mobile game has finally been revealed as Crash Bandicoot: On the Run in light of its first teaser release. The mobile game was previously leaked but carried no official title.

The mystery mobile game surrounding the Crash Bandicoot franchise has been rolling around the gaming community for the better part of two months. However, the game's name has now surfaced, thanks to a new teaser on its official Twitter account. The video dropped yesterday and shows what appears to be a TNT loading screen. The official Twitter account was apparently created sometime in May but hadn’t received much attention until it debuted this teaser. The account only follows Crash Bandicoot and the Candy Crush developer King.

The game was caught floating around Facebook earlier in the year, something that we now know was due to an advertising hiccup. The leak revealed that King would be developing the game, and fans assumed it would be a simple endless runner. Subsequently, the mobile title was then soft launched to certain regions which has now supplied us with our very first teaser. The game only seemed to surface in Malaysia when it was reported that a few select players received the game on Android. The game also appeared on the Google Play store in various parts of the world, but again was only available to a few players.

The Twitter account has since gained over 2,000 followers and features a pixelated profile picture and banner of what is presumably the titular character. Fans of Crash pondered over the ambiguous teaser and in true Twitter fashion took it upon themselves to add the PS1 loading screen music to the teaser. Another comment was noticed in the thread from the Crash Bandicoot Clubhouse that confirmed the official title release and also seemed to confirm that new character Nina Cortex had been added to the character roster. The Clubhouse is a community built page and this character addition has still to be confirmed.

The Clubhouse page also released a header image that looked legitimate, however it didn’t seem to match the pixelated header on the official accounts page that sparked a debate over its validity. Fans will continue to engage in the Crash countdown until developers make it official and, by the look of things, they shouldn’t have to wait long.
