Nintendo Switch Online members can start off 2021 with a brand-new game, as Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will be available for free from December 30 to January 5. There's no restrictions to what you can access either, meaning both the campaign and multiplayer modes will be accessible to anyone with a Nintendo Online subscription.

CTR might not be as popular as Mario Kart, but it deserves just as much praise as the mustachioed plumber. An impressive lineup of racers, challenging courses, and tons of unlockable content makes it one of the best kart racers on the market. Fans of the lovable Bandicoot will be in for a treat, too, with many of the tracks paying homage to classic levels from the franchise. Most outlets gave the game positive marks when it launched last year, and seeing it temporarily added to the Switch Online roster is a great bonus for subscribers.

Unfortunately, the deal is only available in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. If you're in those regions, however, this is a great way to test out one of last year's best racing games before pulling the trigger and permanently adding it to your roster.

Crash Bandicoot had an impressive showing in 2020, thanks to It's About Time. The long-awaited sequel to Crash 3 was finally released this year and, just like CTR: Nitro-Fueled, pulled in impressive reviews around the web. It doesn't deviate too far from the traditional Crash formula, but does enough to pull itself into the modern era without losing touch with its roots.

If you're looking to start 2021 off with a different game, the Switch eShop is currently running a winter promotion that discounts doznes of this year's hottest games. Included in the lineup are Hades, Cuphead, Spiritfarer, and even Super Meat Boy. Most of the savings end in early January, so check out the offers before the end of the week if you're interested.
