Critical Role released the wedding rings of two beloved characters for pre-order on the same day as their wedding. After almost two years from the end of the role playing campaign, characters Vex’ahlia and Percival had a party reunion for their wedding. The excitement from fans of seeing the couple’s love grow during the campaign encouraged Critical Role to sell the very rings of the characters.

If you’re unaware, Critical Role is a Dungeons & Dragons group that started at Geek & Sundry and grew to become its own company where they stream live episodes of their campaign weekly. The first campaign ended in November of 2017. While they’ve started the second campaign, they continue to receive love for the first one and decided to have a reunion along with the creation of the wedding rings.

Voice actress Laura Bailey, also known as Vex’ahlia, and voice actor and director Taliesin Jaffe, also known as Percival, collaborated with Han Cholo to design the rings to match their characters’ personalities. Critical Role then created this trailer for their release. You can purchase the bride’s ring here and the groom’s ring here.

The reunion episode started at the rehearsal dinner where the characters were attacked by an old enemy they believed to be dead. His revenge for his own lost love resulted in the death of beloved character Vex’ahlia. Her dramatic defeat lasted long enough to cause Taliesin’s hand to shake during the whole scene. The entire episode continued on this dramatic note with an almost failed revival of Vex’ahlia, a long battle, and the characters then speaking to the ghost of an old companion which brought tears to the players’ eyes.

The couple finally got married and the stream ended on a final happy note. The fans knew the ending to each character’s story and were sad to let them go. That's why with the greatly successful Kickstarter for the animated series and continuation of content with these characters, The Legend of Vox Machina, it was a good decision to release fun items to keep fans excited until the premiere in the fall of 2020. With these rings, many will keep the characters close to them throughout the release of the series and long after future projects from Critical Role.
